March: Dan McCann & Group Show “Tiny Pieces - Big Picture”

East Gallery Exhibition:  Saranac Art Projects will feature a group exhibition titled “Tiny Pieces- Big Picture” by artists Heather Bellerud, Krista Brand, Mariah Boyle, Jessie Street, and May Kytonen. Curator and Saranac Art Projects president, Mariah Boyle, liked how each artist has paid special attention to small, fine details in each work and thought it important that the care for all the small areas of the art expanded to create a cohesive larger shape, whole, or visual composition. Tactile considerations, textural exploration, mixed materials, pattern, and abstraction run throughout the selected works.

 In the artist’s words, “The work that I am presenting, is about statements that don’t really need to be said. That is obvious. I wanted to add some more to this statement, actually even more than that it’s about knowing something and not expressing it to other people so people understand what you know. That it is obvious.  It’s kind of a weird thing, it’s part of the duh factor, why wouldn’t you know that? Why won’t you see it for what it is? You make me feel stupid. Because I know that. But I don’t know what you know.
