Saranac Art Projects member Kurt Madison has worked in the arts for the last 45 years. As an artist, he works with a range of materials to develop mixed media sculptural installations as well as small and medium size sculptures. While mainly working with three dimensional arts, he has done performance, glass arts, metalsmithing, Japanese brush painting, collage and mural work, as well as working in various design fields including theater and landscape design. His academic background is from the University of Wisconsin- Madison and Tyler School of Art – Temple University, as well as other institutions. Recently retired from The Spokane Falls Community College Art department, where he taught Drawing, Art Appreciation, Non- Western Art, Stagecraft design and chemistry/art workshops, he continues to work and make in his private studio.
